By Pastor Chris Simmons

Know always that God’s Grace, Mercy, and Peace are yours through Jesus Christ.

  • Who is someone you wish you were more like? Why?

  • What are some things you would like to do more? Why?

  • Does who you want to be more like match with what you want to do more of?

 Ephesians 4:1-7

1 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ's gift.

Everyday there are always things left undone… we can drown in the thoughts of “I am not enough… I’m not doing enough…. I’ll never be enough”. Surely you’re familiar with the phrase “it’s not about the destination, it’s about the journey”. We have been assured a great destination through what Christ has done for us. Now, we are encouraged to examine the way we walk there, in a manner worthy of the calling to which we have been called. Rather than focusing on getting it done, let's look at how we model Jesus in humility, patience, gentleness, and bearing one another in love.

Prayer

Thank you, Jesus, for redeeming us and providing for us a great reward. As we walk the path of life, encourage us to love others as you’ve loved us. Please build our character to match your values and motivation. We pray this all in your name Jesus. Amen.
