Know always that God’s Grace, Mercy, and Peace are yours through Jesus Christ.
What are some things you love that other people don’t really understand? Certain foods? Shows? Hobbies?
What is something you’ve grown to love because you sought to understand somebody else? Certain foods? Shows? Hobbies?
Hebrews 4:14-16
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Understanding brings relationships. We can feel alone at times, thinking no one understands us. To an extent… that's true. No one really fully understands the breadth and depth of the things you’re going through or the experiences you’ve had. Really, we don’t fully understand ourselves either. Yet, do not despair, because God understands. He knows every aspect of your heart, your motivations, your need to be understood. That’s one of the reasons He sent us Jesus. So we can approach God’s throne of Grace with confidence, He sent us His Son so we could receive that mercy with understanding.
Prayer
Lord God, we thank you for always walking alongside us. We can approach your throne with confidence because you faced every temptation, walked as we walk… yet without sin. Help us to show that same love to others, to understand before being understood… because we already know you understand us. We pray this all in your name Jesus. Amen.
