By Pastor Chris Simmons
Know always that God’s Grace, Mercy, and Peace are yours through Jesus Christ.
What are some words that have had a profound impact on you?
How much impact do you think words have? A lot or a little?
You may have heard this before…; they say it takes 5 positive words to counteract one negative one. Our words have meaning and impact, and we are called to be careful with them.
Luke 6:43-45
43 “For no good tree bears bad fruit, nor again does a bad tree bear good fruit, 44 for each tree is known by its own fruit. For figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor are grapes picked from a bramble bush. 45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
Jesus is the incarnate (in the flesh) Word of God. God uses His Word to create (John 1) to save, to redeem, to build up, to lead people to Jesus. Of course, we are careful with our words to our students, but as a team here let us use our words to lift one another up too. To grant each other life and encouragement, seeking to ask and to offer help where we can.
Prayer
Lord God, we thank you for your Word. That through Jesus we are given new clean and pure hearts. Let them reflect your light of life through us. May our words reflect your Word. We pray this all in your name Jesus. Amen.
